Delivery Format

Courses are offered in two formats, short courses (4 weeks’ length - 1.5 ECTS) and long courses (7 weeks’ length - 3 ECTS).

Long courses have a weekly structure based on:
(1) Topics of the week: a section which introduces main topics, based on readings and commented examples;
(2) Focus of the Week: a section which applied what has been introduced during the week, through practical activities.
Evaluation for long courses is based on two light assignments, a final assignment and the quality of class participation.

Short courses main weekly sections include:
(1) Overview of main topics introduced during the week;
(2) Readings;
(3) Commented examples: websites or video resources.
Evaluation is based on a comprehension assignment (delivered at the beginning), a final assignment (delivered at the end), and class participation.

For all courses, assignments are individual, while collaborative activities are organized around the assignments or the themes introduced each week.

Communication with the teachers and amongst students is done both in synchronous (audio or video-conferences, instant messaging in fixed time slots) or in asynchronous fashion (by email or forum).
